Puffy Egg Casserole - DEN
Ingredients:
Loaf French bread (I use cube bread)
12 large eggs, slightly beaten (room temperature)
1 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheese
½ cup milk
¼ cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
small tube breakfast sausage (Jimmy Dean, example)
Procedure:
Nite before slice loaf bread in 1” slices or cube bread
Cook off sausage. Butter baking pan that is 2 or 3 inches deep. Combine all ingredients (except ½ cup cheese) and pour into prepared pan, cover with wrap overnight. Refrigerate. Next day remove from frig and let stand about an hour. Top with remaining ½ cup cheese and bake at 325 for approx 50 to 60 mins.
