Ingredients:

1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp. butter

Procedure:

Mix together flour, salt, baking powder.
Beat eggs until foamy; add sugar, 2 tbsp. at a time.
Add vanilla, beating until fluffy and light.
Add dry ingredients. Blend well.
Heat milk with butter, just to boiling.
Stir quickly into batter.
Pour into buttered 9 inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Turn out onto rack & cool. 

This can be used for Ice Cream Cake, Boston Cream Pie, or Strawberry Shortcake.
