Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 lb raisins, cooked
1 cup hot raisin juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves

Procedure:

Cream sugar, shortening, and spices.
Cook raisins about 20 minutes.
take 1 cup hot juice and add alternately with flour and baking soda.
Drain raisins and add to batter at once while still hot and moist.
Mix all together. Batter is rather stiff. 
Pour into cupcake pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. 

Makes 2 dozen.
