Red Velvet Cake - MAB

1/2 cup Crisco

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

2 cups cake flour ( do not use regular)

1 tsp cocoa

1 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk

 

Mix all of above together with mixer.

 

Then:

 

2 oz. red food coloring

1 tsp baking soda

1 tbsp vinegar, added to the above baking soda

 

FOLD into above. DO NOT MIX.

 

Bake in 2- 9" greased & floured pans  @ 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
