Ingredients:

½ cup shortening

¾ sugar

1 tsp vanilla

3 large eggs

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 cup sour cream

6 Tbsp butter, softened

1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed

2 tsp cinnamon

1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Procedure:

Fills 10 inch tube pan, 350 degree
 

Grease and flour pan

 

Cream shortening, sugar & vanilla.  Add eggs one at a time.  Sift flour, baking powder, and baking soda.  Add flour mixture and sour cream to creamed sugar mixture.  Alternate little of each.  In separate bowl cream butter, brown sugar & cinnamon.  Add nuts.  Spread ½ of batter in tube pan; sprinkle ½ of nut mixture evenly over batter.  Add remaining batter and top off with remaining nuts.  Bake for approx 50 minutes.
