Pear Butter - MAB
Ingredients:
6 cups fully ripe pear pulp ( 9 pears)
enough water to start pears cooking ( about 1 cup)
juice of 1 lemon or 3 tbsp Realemon
1 pkg. pectin
3 cups sugar
cinnamon to taste ( about 1/2 tsp)
Procedure:
Wash pears; do not peel. Slice. Add water & lemon juice. Cook till mushy. Put through sieve till fruit is pulped.Place in saucepan. Stir in pectin & sugar. Bring to boil over slow burner, stirring constantly. Cook till of spreading consistency. Add cinnamon. Skim foam. Pour into sterilized jars & seal.
