Ingredients:

5 cups milk
1/2 cup rice
1/2 cinnamon stick (never use)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 lemon rind (never use)
1/2 tsp vanilla
dash salt

1 cup heavy cream
2 egg yolks

Procedure:

Mix above ingredients and cook until rice is done and liquid is ALMOST absorbed.  Mixture will be thickening but not dry.  Take small amount of hot liquid (from rice) and add to egg & cream mixture to temper to prevent eggs from scrambling.  Return egg & cream mixture to rice and continue cooking until creamy consistency.  Will thicken further but again will still have some moisture.
